Krzyżowa-Music invites this year 37 carefully selected young musicians to spend over two weeks of the summer in the rural seclusion of Krzyżowa, together with some of the most sought-after, educationally experienced musicians from around the world. In a casual yet concentrated atmosphere, they will work together, learn together, share their generational experiences as well as perform together. The selection for this year’s edition was completed in February. We present the list of participants below:
The Spanish oboist began his musical studies at the age of six, playing the guitar and at ten he began his oboe studies at the Conservatorio García Matos with Vicente Perez. Since 2012 he has studied with Prof. Lucas Macias Navarro at Freiburg University of Music.
Fifteen year old native New York violinist Ari Boutris is a student of Patinka Kopec at the Manhattan School of Music Pre-College with additional studies with Pinchas Zukerman. Ari has won numerous prizes and competitions and has performed as soloist with the Czech Virtuosi Orchestra, Pleven Philharmonic, Moskovia String Orchestra, Adelphi Chamber Orchestra, and the Camellia Symphony Orchestra.
The violinist Maia Cabeza, born in Japan in 1992 of Argentinian heritage, was the 1st prize winner of the 2013 Leopold Mozart International Violin Competition Augsburg. Currently she studies with Antje Weithaas in Berlin. She performed with various orchestras like St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra, Munich Radio Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra and the Detroit Symphony.
As a recipient of a 2010 Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship Award, the pianist is equally at home in recital, as a soloist with orchestras, and a chamber musician. He has appeared in recitals in Berlin, Florence La Pergola, Hong Kong, at the Società di Quartetto di Milan, Madrid, the Herkulessaal in Munich, the Louvre in Paris and the Tonhalle in Zurich.
