Senior Musicians

Viviane Hagner has succeded to win over a large number of critically acclaimed musicians of our time to be Seniors in the faculty of Krzyżowa Music. These musicians have aggreed to participate in the Krzyzowa-Music workshop and rehearse and perform with the excellent Krzyżowa-Juniors. If they have not participated in 2015, 2016 or 2017, they will engage in Krzyzowa-Music in the subsequent years.

Shmuel Ashkenasi, violin

Born in Tel Aviv, Israel, Shmuel Ashkenasi attended the Musical Academy of Tel Aviv and gave his first public performance at the age of eight. After studying with Ilona Feher, he came to the United States to study with Efrem Zimbalist at the Curtis Institute of Music.

Krzysztof Chorzelski, viola

The violist of the renowned Belcea Quartet, one of the best quartets worldwide, won the Tadeusz Wronski International Competition in 1992. Despite his flourishing career as a solo violinist, Chorzelski decided to join the Belcea Quartet as a violist and made an international career in chamber music.
